What will you do in this position?
You will support the preparation of social media content such as by conducting research, confirming information with other units, drafting captions, editing photo and video content, adding captions or translating messages.

The war in Ukraine has had drastic consequences, both for people inside the country and for those around the world dependent on its huge grain supplies. It has caused one of the fastest forced population movements since the Second World War. Close to 8 million Ukrainians are living as refugees across Europe, and another 5.3 million are internally displaced. Many are destitute, having lost their homes and livelihoods. As food production and supply lines are disrupted by fighting, many families in the east and south do not have reliable access to nutritious food.
WFP uses a flexible mix of food and cash assistance to support vulnerable Ukrainians wherever they are. This includes working with local partners to distribute food rations in areas near the frontline and providing cash transfers wherever people have access to banks and markets to buy food. Since March 2022, WFP has distributed food and cash assistance equivalent to 1.9 billion meals to families displaced and affected by the war, partnering directly with local responders.

How can you make a difference?
In this position, you will have to:
- Support the preparation of social media content such as by conducting research, confirming information with other units, drafting captions, editing photo and video content, adding captions or translating messages
- Support the publication of social media content by scheduling posts
- Research social media trends and use initiative to suggest creative content ideas
- Help organize multimedia material such as by archiving, publishing on the WFP multimedia hub, naming, tagging and captioning material
- Support the monitoring of social media platforms and report relevant, sensitive or critical information to senior staff
- Support the tracking of social media performance and engagement using analytics tools, contribute to the production of reports to evaluate and adapt communications strategies
- Perform other communications-related duties as required.
To join us in saving lives, changing lives, you will have:
Education: To be currently enrolled in a university degree and have completed at least two years of undergraduate studies; OR to be a recent graduate (maximum 6 months after graduation). To have attended university courses in the last 12 months.
Experience: Basic experience and familiarity with digital communications; experience creating content for social media platforms or managing a social media account and engaging with a Ukrainian audience on social media.
Knowledge & Skills:
- Ability to write clear text in English.
- Photo editing, video editing and/or graphic design skills are an advantage.
Language: Fluency (level C) in both in English and Ukrainian languages.
